All About Harry Potter Pocket Watches
Harry Potter is the name of a very popular character in a series of children's novels. These novels were, and still are, written by a woman named J.K. Rowling, from Edinburgh in the UK. Rowling used to be a starving single mother, and would sit in a cafe while jotting down what would become the first Harry Potter book. Although Rowling had a bit of trouble at first (as do many authors), once Harry Potter was published, it reached phenomenon status. Other books followed, and at the current time, Rowling is working on the very last book in the series.
Harry Potter books center around the main character, of course, who is a student at the Hogwarts School of Wizardry. Harry and his friends, Ron Beasley and Hermione, encounter all sorts of adventures and magical situations in these books. Throughout the series, which feature books that are quite lengthly, readers have grown up with these characters and perhaps experienced some of the same coming of age issues. Rowling's penchant for mystery, drama and fun makes these books appealing to adults as well. This series of books has become so popular with children and adults alike that there are movies, clothes, collectibles, games, and even pocket watches. The Harry Potter empire is booming, and both grownups and kids clamor for these wizardly collectibles.
Harry Potter pocket watches are prized by two groups of collectors: those that love Harry Potter, and those that collect pocket watches. These watches make great gifts for the child in your family that enjoys Harry Potter. These watches don't always come cheap, however. While they were offered in retail stores by Warner Brothers for the price of $30, they are now being featured on online auction sites and specialty sites for prices in the hundreds. One good place to look for these timepieces is Ebay, where you can sometimes find them at much lower prices than you would at a specialty shop.
These watches feature precision quartz movement, an antique looking case in a bronze tone, raised gold toned hour indicators, an engraving of Hogwarts on the case, and a picture of Harry on the face. You'll see that these are quality timepieces that the collector in your life would love to recieve!
